Helllo, I am back!! My personal life these last few months was crazy busy with traveling and moving, but I have not stopped cooking!
Just in time to kick off the new year, here is a delicious and super easy dinner to make tonight or in 2020! Being from Baltimore, I love all dishes that involve crab meat so I wanted to end this year off with one of my favorite things a crab dish!
If you’ve never had crab imperial you are missing out. It is essentially a deconstructed crab cake that is cooked in a bowl… and it is really easy!
To start you will need just a few ingredients:
- 1 Lb jumbo lump crab meat
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 Cup mayo
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 TBSP old bay
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 large egg
When I say easy, I mean it!
Preheat your oven for 350 degrees.
Put all of the ingredients into one bowl and gently fold them all together so you don’t you don’t mince the crab meat, as it should have big lumps.
If you are worried about this, then you could mix everything but the crab meat together first then fold the crab meat in after.
Once all mixed it should look like a loose crab cake, super creamy and delicious. I had to use every ounce of self control to not eat this straight from the bowl.
Next scoop the meat into a large ramekin. If you don’t have one, you can use a small glass bowl, like the 1 cup pyrex bowl.
Before you bake, sprinkle some old bay on top, because, why not?!?
Now, place the ramekins on a baking sheet to make it easier to take in and out of the oven. Let the dish bake for about 20-25 minutes.
After those 25 minutes, put the oven on broil for a few minutes until the crab is golden brown on top.
Take the delicious crab imperial out of the oven and serve it with some cocktail sauce and with some sweet potato fries!
Bon appetite and Happy New Year! See you all in 2020!
